Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior GCP Test Engineer in Bolingbrook, IL.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing testing strategy, test plan and test cases to support testing and execution of data pipelines for the enterprise data platform on Google GCP Cloud
Senior GCP Test Engineer will ensure adherence to testing standards and best practices
Collects testing metrics, reports status as defined in test plan with supporting data
Accountable for test data management, collection of requirements, evaluation of available data in repositories
Understands and clearly articulates Known Issues, Defects and ETL Automation Process
Identify issues, risks and dependencies and communicate to program/project leadership
Actively drives communication and testing remediation
Point of contact for data platform team to answer questions identified during test execution reviews
Ensures traceability between requirements, features, user stories, test plans and outcomes
As a Senior GCP Test Engineer, you will participate in troubleshooting issues with relevant teams to achieve root cause identification and resolution
Document, track and escalate issues, as appropriate
Support production deployment of applications and perform "validation testing"
Test execution in development, test, and production environments for each release in the iterative development lifecycle
Design and create test cases and scripts to address business and technical use cases
Leverage existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing/validation function
REQUIREMENTS:
6-8 years of experience in IT with at least 4-5 years testing
3 years of experience with GCP
SQL writing, ETL workflow and rule validation experience
Strong experience in developing test strategy, test scripts, input test data, and expected results for one or more test plans, including component, assembly, product, performance, user acceptance and technical architecture tests
Experience in testing Google Cloud services (BigQuery, Composer etc.), data integration tools like Talend and data warehousing data ingestion frameworks testing
Core knowledge of ETL testing
Setting up the performance testing strategy for a data warehouse application
Understanding of CI/CD tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins server
Knowledge with ETL Tools such as SAP Data Services and Talend preferred
Strong SQL and analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of stakeholders within the organization
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
