RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Fully Remote Staff Software Engineer to join their team. This role is pivotal in building and scaling our data applications to support the ever-increasing traffic and feature demands. As a Staff Engineer, you will spend approximately 50% of your time on hands-on development and the remaining on leadership activities, including collaboration with high-level leadership, managing multiple projects, and guiding the team through technical challenges. Overall, they are looking for a lead backend Software Engineer (Java/Spring Boot) that understands cloud (GCP) along with Data Modeling.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field


• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Dataflow, Dataproc, and Bigtable


• Experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra, including creating new tables and models


• Proven experience leading teams, managing multiple projects, and collaborating with senior leadership


• Expertise in big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and data modeling practices


• Familiarity with search technologies like Solr and Fusion


• Proficient in Java development, with experience in frameworks like Micronaut and Spring Boot


• Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Python, and Go is a plus


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences


• Ability to handle complex technical issues and provide effective solutions under pressure

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
