Responsible for respiratory therapy duties including oxygen and aerosol therapy, administration of specialty gases, application of ventilators, arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, implement patient driven protocols, and other duties as assigned. *Respiratory Therapists must be a graduate of a Commission of Accreditation Respiratory Care (CoARC) approved program.

Perform exercise testing involving monitoring of patient functions and assessment of patient effort in the Pulmonary Rehab dept. Perform pulmonary function testing including the operation of equipment, compiling of tests results for physician review and assessment of patient effort based upon results. Consult with and assist physicians and nurses with respiratory care plan for patients and facilitate the implementation of the physician's orders.
Hours: Weekday Shift, 50-100%, 3x12's M-F No weekends.

Required Qualifications:
Graduate of a two or four year AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program, or completion of the requirements to become registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Possess a current State of Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Possess a current CPR certification card.
Obtain registry from the National Board for Respiratory Care within six (6) months of date of hire.
Desired Qualifications:
Greater than one year of recent ICU level experience.
Experience with an electronic medical record documentation system.
Currently registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
