PRC manages the planning and oversight of a 3.1 million dollar professional and educational theater operation. This unit has a staff of about 175 which includes approximately 47 employees, 20 independent contractors, 30 work-study students and up to 100 volunteers. Approximately 37 of these employees are seasonal employees, requiring new contracts and university personnel paperwork for each season. This unit is responsible for creating significant professional artistic programming, student and community engagement activities and attendant fundraising endeavors. The unit functions as a program of the Department of Dramatic Art. Employees of the unit are essentially employees of the department.
Position provides support to PRC productions as running crew for main stage and second stage shows. Position focuses in one of the crew areas: stage management, deck, props, wardrobe, sound or electrics. These positions support their production department as assigned based upon the candidate's experience and expertise. Rehearsal and performances occur during evenings and weekends. Day-to-day duties may include assisting during technical rehearsals, show set up, during performance and clean up and restore at the end of each performance. Work is supervised by professional theater staff. Positions will work closely with outside professionals, undergraduate as well as graduate students in the Department of Dramatic Art.
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Previous experience in theater required. A commitment to customer service experience including friendly customer care; excellent communication skills; must be a team player and be able to multitask and work under pressure; flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
An understanding of the importance of the performing arts.
