Position Summary:
The Director of Student Equity & Compliance and Deputy Title IX Coordinator (Director) is a member of The Chicago School's Student Success team. Founded in 1979, The Chicago School is an independent, non-profit institution with a dynamic student body and a professionally accomplished faculty. The Director must show a strong commitment to The Chicago School's mission, vision, and values.
The Director maintains collaborative, professional relationships with faculty and other student facing departments to implement programs, services, and activities consistent with the University's mission, strategic goals, and regulatory requirements. This position promotes meaningful student, faculty, and institutional engagement in support of student persistence and success.
The Director must exercise a high degree of responsibility, attention to detail, and independent judgment. They must work hours that align with students' need for access to services including occasional evenings and weekends.
This is a hybrid position. The Director must work on campus two to three days per week. Please find the campus locations at

Responsibilities
Disability Services
Hold responsibility for managing all aspects of the school's disability programs and services including serving as the primary point of contact for students seeking disability accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Manage cases for all students receiving disability accommodations including but not limited to determining accommodations based on medical necessity and creating accommodation documentation, purchasing and managing assistive equipment and technology, and identifying and contracting with external services.
Mediate accommodation-related conflicts between students and instructors as needed.
Maintain disability services policies, procedures, and forms, and use technology to improve services and maximize efficiency.
Stay up to date on trends and good practices in disability services to engage in continuous quality improvement and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Educate the school community on disability policies and procedures including offering regular training sessions, creating and maintaining FAQs, and meeting individually with constituents to answer questions on best practices.
Display sharp attention to detail and keep accurate records of all communication and documentation.
Ensure that the privacy and confidentiality of student records is strictly maintained.
Title IX Services
Serve as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator, acting as a resource for students, faculty, and administration.
Manage all aspects of student cases under the Student Policy on Pregnancy and Related Conditions.
Support the coordination and delivery of university-wide education, training, and outreach programming related to Title IX, VAWA, Campus SaVE, Clery Act, related state laws, and other related rules and regulations.
Manage the accuracy, currency, and relevancy of all digital and print Title IX resources.
Prepare and disseminate educational materials, both hard-copy and web-based, that inform members of the campus community of Title IX rights and responsibilities, complaint processes, and reporting obligations.
Represent The Chicago School to the Chicagoland Title IX Consortium and other external groups.
Prepare and submit annual reports to external agencies and entities, where required.
Monitor and collate the training activities of the TIX team under the federal regulation and state rules.
Compliance
Manage school compliance efforts related to annual notifications (FERPA, consumer disclosures, etc.) and ensure the school's digital compliance notifications and resources are adequate and current.
Write and maintain the bi-annual Drug Free Schools and Communities Act report.
Department Administration
Use technology to modernize services for students.
Onboard and supervise student employees tasked with taking notes and providing other disability accommodation support to students.
Supervise professional staff.
Manage the department budget including expenses related to disability accommodation.
Create, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of online content for all assigned functions on the student website, the faculty and staff intranet, The Chicago School website, and other digital platforms.
Manage program review for the department including identifying key performance indicators, collecting and analyzing data, reporting on findings, and using findings to improve programs and services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Evidence of culturally competent practice and demonstrated ability to serve the needs of diverse students, especially those holding historically marginalized or underrepresented identities.
Ability to juggle multiple competing demands and set priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining superb attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as part of a diverse team, always with flexibility, enthusiasm and determination.
Ability to anticipate issues before they arise and prioritize them appropriately once they do.
Ability to work independently, think critically, and problem solve.
Ability to deploy excellent communication and interpersonal skills with varied audiences including with individuals and in groups.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
Three to five years of work experience in higher education disability services, Title IX, compliance, or similar.
Earned master's degree in a relevant discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
