Position Details:


Summary of Duties:


This position is the primary communications contact for the School of Food Science and supports communications for the WSU Creamery. This position is responsible for disseminating targeted and timely communications that promote activities and accomplishments in the School of Food Science and support the WSU Creamery and Ferdinand's Ice Cream Shoppe Brand. This position will coordinate and plan events. This position will support social media and website functions, recruiting activities, scholarship and award nominations and alumni relations.





Required Qualifications:


A Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, humanities, public relations, or related field; or four years of writing/editing/public relations experience; OR equivalent education/experience.





Preferred Qualifications:




  • Knowledge of WSU policies and procedures.




  • Experience creating, maintaining, and updating websites (such as WordPress).




  • Experience with Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, project management software, email ListServ(s), Google Analytics, social media, and other computer programs.




  • Demonstrated understanding/experience of event coordination and planning.

Monthly Salary:


$3,317.00 - $4,410.00 | Range 38 | Steps A - M



Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
