Job Description:
The Education Department at Brown University is seeking a passionate, versatile storyteller and marketing professional to lead planning and execution of our department marketing communications strategy, including recruitment activities and marketing for two professional master's programs. The incumbent is the department's lead staffer charged with developing content for the Education Department's website, newsletter, and social media channels for the purposes of communicating the value and impact of the department's research and teaching to diverse audiences. A critical part of this work is to raise the visibility and name recognition of our graduate programs to assist in recruiting excellent, diverse applicants to them. This position will help to develop and implement digital strategies within the department as well as work closely with staff at the School of Professional Studies (SPS) to align with and support university-wide master's program marketing and recruitment efforts. The incumbent will work closely with graduate program directors to develop direct outreach strategies for recruitment and manage partner relationships that support recruitment. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, an innovative mindset, and significant experience with implementing marketing, communications, and engagement best practices as well as a passion for educational equity.
The Education Department is a multi-disciplinary department that is committed to addressing educational inequality and making a positive real world impact with our research and teaching, especially within our local community. Our faculty, staff, and students share this commitment and it structures the way we conduct our research, design our programs and teaching, build community, and engage with partners and stakeholders in Rhode Island and nationally. Our three degree programs--Master of Arts in Teaching, Urban Education Policy Master of Arts program, and the Education Studies undergraduate concentration--prepare future education professionals and citizens with the skills, vision, and commitment to be agents of positive change and equity in urban schools and communities. The position plays an essential role in supporting this work by helping us to frame and publicize the work we do, engage and communicate with important stakeholders and audiences, and recruit the next generation of educational professionals and leaders to our programs.
The manager will provide high level support to the leadership team in the Education Department, specifically in the areas of written and visual content creation, marketing and outreach strategies, and the management and effective use of digital platforms. This person should be a strong writer and communicator, have strong organization and time management skills, work well independently and in collaboration, and be able to take leadership and initiative in areas of their distinctive expertise.

Job Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of five years of demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and measuring creative digital marketing campaigns that include web pages, email marketing, social media, video, digital advertising, etc., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience managing content and marketing strategies on YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or other prevailing social media platforms in higher education, business, or political industries
Experience measuring, analyzing, and reporting digital metrics
Experience navigating and complying with laws and statutes governing privacy, copyright, fair use and other areas of intellectual property as it pertains to distributing content
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills involving the execution of multiple, simultaneous projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
Ability to sustain a high level of productivity and work independently while being part of a collaborative team.
Ability to take leadership and initiative in areas of distinctive expertise.
Experience developing and implementing integrated communication strategies that span multiple media and vehicles, including print, web, and social media.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with Canva, Drupal, MailChimp, and WordPress preferred.
Proficiency with social media platforms (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
Possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community.
