Meta is seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to lead the energy, and associated emissions, reporting for our fleet of data centers and clean energy projects.In this role, you will be a member of Meta's Energy Team working in close collaboration and partnership with the Net Zero team. Your responsibilities will include: ensuring that we have the infrastructure to accurately measure our energy consumption, clean energy generation, and associated emissions to track our progress towards being Net Zero by 2030; collecting and auditing energy data from Meta's operations; coordinating with Net Zero and ESG teams to complete annual GHG inventory and Sustainability Report; leading reporting to and engagement with clean energy reporting organizations (i.e. RE100, CEBA, ACORE).
Program Manager, Energy Reporting Responsibilities:
Partner with Net Zero team to develop Scope 2 data tracking systems aligned to accounting verifier's best practices.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support reporting on Meta's clean energy purchases, energy consumption, and renewable energy credit retirement, as well as progress toward renewable energy and net zero targets.
Own reporting of clean energy purchases and Scope 2 emissions for RE100, CDP, CEBA, ACORE, and LEED.
Ensure alignment to Meta's criteria and fidelity in public disclosures across different geographies and types of Meta consumption, public announcements and Meta programs.
Support the annual corporate environmental data inventory, including compilation, documentation, verification, and publication of business energy consumption and clean energy project generation.
Enable effective data management and strategic decision making by building standardized processes, databases, dashboards, and tools
providing easily understood visuals and reports on a diverse set of topics
and enabling automation and scaling.
Strengthen energy data controls and QA/QC systems, evaluate and ensure data integrity and identify reporting issues
recommend solutions and remove roadblocks.
Track progress against targets and benchmark performance against internal KPIs and stakeholder expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
BA or BS degree with data analysis and visualization emphasis such as: computer science, social sciences, physical sciences, math, engineering, statistics, and/or sustainability focused degree.
5+ years of experience working with energy portfolio management or greenhouse gas emissions data in the corporate context.
Understanding of current practices and trends in greenhouse gas emissions and broader sustainability reporting.
Experience using data access tools and building visualizations using large datasets and multiple data sources, particularly with Tableau, Google Sheets, and Excel.
Experience of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in data management, critical analysis skills, and attention to detail.
Experience presenting data and analytics insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience to manage fast-paced and multi-faceted ad hoc data analysis requests.
Experienced track record in creating graphics for leadership presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with scripting/templating language (ex. Python, JavaScript) and SQL and working with unstructured data.
Familiarity with external reporting standards such as CDP, ISSB, GRI, TCFD, SASB, etc.
