Objectives of this Role:
Be a motivated team member in the composites lab performing layups and filament winding operations to meet client driven needs and deadlines.
Fabricate custom parts in accordance with engineering drawings, technical procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
Collaborate directly with engineers and production managers to ensure parts meet or exceed specifications.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Fabricate composite parts in accordance to technical specifications via layups and filament winding.
Involved in entire composite fabrication process. Mixing resin, preparing molds and mandrels, fabricating composite parts, oven curing, trimming/grinding, assembling, and inspecting parts.
Responsible for the daily/weekly cleaning of equipment and lab space as well as maintaining a neat and orderly work environment.
High attention to detail. Inspecting parts for manufacturing defects and adherence to tolerances.
Recommend corrective procedures; report results, recommendations, and needed repairs; mark items for acceptance or rejection; record test results and inspection data; compare findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards.
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Composite course certification preferred. Filament winding training preferred.
1 years: Experience using hand tools, power tools, and standard mechanical measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
Work independently or as part of a team, meet deadlines, follow engineering drawings precisely, use custom tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
Active security clearance preferred.
A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:
