As a Production Test Technician, you will provide technical support to the reverse logistics and testing of telecom related product ranges, to ensure production targets are met to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements. This individual will be involved in verifying / certifying all aspects of a telecom-grade, fault-tolerant, universally available, hardware and software solution. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills in electronics and mechanics, experience in troubleshooting, and a meticulous mindfulness. They should have effective communication abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality. Personal attributes such as reliability, adaptability, and an initiative-taking approach to problem-solving are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support to the production and verification of test related failures.
Assist with production changeovers and setup.
Work with the technical writing team on work instructions and updates.
Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and maintenance on all lab equipment.
Test with the use of complex electronic equipment and diagnosis of production test failures down to component level if necessary. Identify corrective action in a timely manner allowing production to continue in line with the program.
Provide technical support and training to Test Operators to facilitate the efficient throughput of hardware during production. Assess related Test Equipment issues, directing support services to resolve equipment failures.
Actively participate in some phases of NPI to gain a complete and detailed understanding of the features to be tested.
Support Lab activities as needed including Pre-FAI/FAI/EWP.
Evaluate Technical problems to develop proposals for investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements.
Function as the test representative at technical meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action for products and production.
Write detailed test cases and test work instructions based on requirements and design.
Help reduce regression test cycles with test automation where applicable.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years’ experience as a test technician in a structured product development life cycle.
5+ years’ experience with telecom carrier-grade software testing.
Experience with both hardware and software testing methodologies and will be involved in verifying, certifying all aspects of a telecom-grade, fault-tolerate, universally available, hardware and software solution.
Must have technical competencies in carrier-grade hardware requirements, mobile communication protocols, and next generation voice and signaling.
An initiative-taker.
A good understanding of measurement and test principles, and equipment.
Ability to manage customer software and variant control.
Efficient at writing work instructions, technical dialog, and English as a speaking language in work instruction development.
Good working knowledge of MS Office tools.
Able to work in a team environment.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in a Remanufactured testing environment.
