Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Medication Specialist in the Connections program at Behavioral Health Network!
Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Connections program with the following:
Overseeing resident medication management along with the Recovery Specialist Supervisor and Program Director.
Managing resident's medication needs by following the 6 Rights of Medication Management.
Ensuring medications are taken as prescribed and reporting errors or incidents when a medication is taken improperly to a supervisor and other regulatory authorities immediately.
Connecting residents to providers and prescribers to start and continue medications to prevent running out of medications.
Aiding residents with after care planning for prescribed medications for their care across different levels of care, service settings, and providers.
Overseeing regular medication disposal to prevent accumulation of medications.
Counting and maintaining the stock of non-expired medications & clean, appropriate supplies, including ensuring proper functioning of the medication refrigerator.
Maintaining accurate, timely, secure, & confidential documentation on medication administration records/medication sheets of medications stored & disposed of and those in possession of residents.
Writing or creating medication policies and procedures.
Orienting & training both new residents & program staff on medication policies and procedures.
Supporting ongoing staff development through coaching, mentoring, and role modeling, including arranging regular naloxone and medication management trainings.
Providing crisis intervention and emergency services, as needed.
Adhering to the regulations and requirements of licensing and funding sources at all times.
Who are we?
The Connections program offers residential substance use disorder treatment for adults 18 years of age and older as an alternative to incarceration. The multidisciplinary team at Connections partners with each program participant to create a strengths-based, goal-oriented treatment plan to provide a road map to meet individuals' self-identified goals for improved physical and behavioral health, stable housing, educational or vocational pursuits, parenting needs, and recovery supports. The goal of treatment is to assist individuals in navigating the challenges of early recovery and help them to develop the skills needed to reduce risk of relapse or further engagement with the justice system.

What are we looking for in a Medication Specialist?
High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
At least 3 years of experience in direct care (required).
Knowledge of and ability to promote recovery (required).
Strong critical thinking skills (required).
Ability to communicate directions to staff clearly and appropriately (required).
Proficiency with MS Office, internet, and email systems (required).
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (Carelogic) (preferred).
