Full-Time, On-site, Hourly position
Job Duties
Assembles, repairs, and fabricates parts or components for tools or machines by operating mechanical Equipment (such as lathe, mill, and drill machines)
Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to determine the precise specifications, dimensions, and tolerance levels of the finished product
Selects and operate the appropriate tools to cut, shape, or finish metal, plastic, or composite material
Sets up, services, and maintains equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation
Utilizes precision measuring instruments to check the accuracy and quality of machined parts
Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units as necessary
Must be able to regulate machine factors speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut
Must be able to multi-cut tooling, set-up and operate machines and detect and report faulty conditions such as incorrect or damaged parts
Have an understanding of Basic Insulation Level (BIL) and basics of Transformers
Works under supervision and or guidance from higher classifications
Reports to a supervisor or manager
Requirements
At least 1 or more years experience with lathe and mill.
At least 1 or more years related manufacturing experience and/or training in the field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possess a general knowledge of and operate with little supervision, basic hand and power tools, milling machines, and all drill presses, grinders, buffers, saws.
Experience in a fast-paced, production/manufacturing environment.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to interpret blueprints.
Ability to follow all safety practices.
Ability to maintain high standards of Quality & Production
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions.
Able to regularly lift and move up to 60 lbs. with no assistance.
Able to work at heights up to 15'.
Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights above 4 feet.
Able to work in all types of environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, oil and vapor.
Willing and able to work overtime as required.
Must have a positive attitude, team player, work well with others and looks for solutions instead of problems.
This is a union position, per union contract.
