OMNI Engineering, a CRH company, started its business in 1985 in Omaha, Nebraska. OMNI is involved in heavy highway construction as well as private and commercial site construction. Its primary business involves the manufacture and placement of asphalt for roads, city streets and parking lots. Currently, OMNI Engineering employs around 200 employees and remains a competitive force in the Omaha market.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will plan, direct and coordinate all activities on designated projects from the point of sale to completion to ensure that the projects are accomplished on time and in conformance with all the terms and conditions of the contracts. In addition, he/she will act as the main contact person for the customer and all vendors on a particular project. He/she is directly responsible for monitoring the project costs and compliance with contract documents, attending job meetings and protecting OMNI Engineering's interest throughout the entire process.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Monitor construction to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget
Manage project scheduling, resource allocation, cost projections, and billing
Develop and maintain positive relationships with owner, contractors, and engineers
Track and adjust quantities through all phases of each project
Monitor daily cost reports for accuracy and cost overruns
Review project plans, specifications and requirements with superintendent and operations manager prior to project
Manage subcontracts and sub-contractor coordination
Maintain and update accurate project schedules
Coordinate project specific training, safety and EEOC compliance
Preparation and approval of accurate monthly pay estimates from owner and sub-contractors
Approve all subcontractor/supplier invoices
Assure accuracy of sub-contractor submittals and coordination of work
Coordination with owners on timing of work and proper completion
Negotiate all contract change orders in writing prior to the work being accomplished
Respond timely to all owner and sub-contractor correspondence
Maintain daily project diaries and documentation
Assure compliance with project specifications, quality and customer satisfaction
Generate various reports required by immediate supervisor
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
A strong desire to grow within the construction management industry (we can train the right person for the role)
A two-year degree/certificate in construction management, construction engineering, or civil engineering preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience is accepted
Two or more years of project management experience in the asphalt and road construction industry preferred, however, candidates with lesser experience are acceptable

Work Requirements
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
Must maintain current driver's license that meets state requirements
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls
Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations
Adhere to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as set forth by the US DOT
