Job Details:
This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on diesel engine trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
The hours for this position will be 11 AM to 7:30 PM and there will be NO SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL PAY
The level will be determined by skill level.
Functions
To maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture
Receive training as required
Perform various positions as required/assigned
Tasks
*Applicants will be considered for any Truck Shop Mechanic opening. This position requires a current valid State driver's license.
*Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance.
*Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools.
*Requires minimum 1 year of basic mechanical or maintenance skills including PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers, and minimum 1-year experience operating cutting torch and electric welder.
*May perform air brake, electrical, and air conditioning work. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and ladders up to 20 feet, bend, stretch, reach, and work in extremely hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
*Must be able to read and understand assignments. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.
*Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
