GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to identify, coordinate, implement, manage and evaluate environmental and/or sustainability initiatives in both public and private sectors and promote environmental and/or sustainability programs through public outreach and education.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job
Four (4) years of related experience
Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Researches, analyzes and reports on environmental issues and recommends projects based on research
Provides program-related information to government and community audiences, such as the Community Environmental Academy
Researches, prepares and submits grant applications
Develops media content
Supports efforts to be inclusive in programing and communicating; identifying potential DEI partners, including vendors; identifying ways to reduce barriers to participation of historically excluded communities
Coordinates, organizes and promotes public events such as Water Week, Waste Reduction Week, Bike Month, etc.
Serves as program representative at various internal and external meetings and events
Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Valid Driver's license
