Responsible for planning and executing nutritional services to the patients and health care team under the direction of a Licensed, Registered Dietitian. Assists Clinical Nutrition Supervisor and clinical dietitians with all phases of patient care related services and educational services.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duty 1: Assesses and implements the plan of care for assigned patients. Assures patients are adequately followed-up in a timely manner according to Joint Commission Standards.
Duty 2: Calories and protein are accurately calculated to patient's weight and height.
Duty 3: Educates individuals and groups utilizing appropriate techniques and materials.
Duty 4: Maintains good rapport with medical and nursing staff as evaluated through peer review.
Duty 5: Actively participates in department meetings, nursing unit rounds, and hospital committees.
Duty 6: Manages time efficiently, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and preparing reports as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an associate degree program approved by the American Dietetic Association in dietetic technology or four year baccalaureate program in dietetics approved by the American Dietetic Association. Graduates of an approved associate program.
Must meet registration requirements from the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
A valid driver's license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver's license you must obtain one within one year of your residency in the state) and you must also meet BVHS's company fleet policy requirements
Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
Individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on his/her assigned unit/department. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the area's policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent activities in walking, twisting, and standing. The associate will be required to sit for six hours a day. The individual must be able to lift twenty-five pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The associate must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. The position requires excellent verbal skills to perform daily tasks. The individual must have excellent eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
