Job Description Summary:

In charge of supervising Cell Therapy Quality Control (QC) Flow Cytometry personnel, assays, and equipment to facilitate the production, release, and distribution of Cell Therapy products. Collaborates with the Quality Assurance teams to drive the implementation of client methods in the QC lab, supporting Cell Therapy Operations.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Supervise the Cell Therapy Flow Cytometry lab, advising subordinates on meeting schedules and resolving technical problems.




  • Review testing and laboratory records for accuracy and compliance with cGMP and Lonza policies and principles.




  • Develop and maintain a monitoring tool for QC resource capacity, providing feedback to QC management and production planners.




  • Lead, mentor, and coach staff through routine meetings and effective performance management, setting and delivering on individual and team goals.




  • Write, review, and/or approve SOPs, sampling plans, protocols, and specifications.




  • Prepare responses to audits, deviations, out of specification/lab investigations, customer complaints, and corrective/preventative actions (CAPA), ensuring timely completion.




  • Lead and mentor others with technical investigations, providing solutions and support.




  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Key Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science-related field.




  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.




  • Demonstrated knowledge in biological, cell-based assays, including flow cytometry.




  • Experience with method validation and technology transfer preferred.




  • In-depth understanding of concepts and principles in the field, and basic knowledge of other areas, staying updated on new technologies.




  • Ability to develop training plans and address training gaps.




  • Knowledge of completing team methods/procedures and operating equipment, with occasional non-routine analyst tasks.




  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software; knowledge of SAP and TrackWise systems a plus.




  • Strong problem-solving skills, making decisions or plans for their area and making recommendations for the department.




  • Ability to identify and respond to complex problems, interpret complex data, and draw valid conclusions.




  • Planning and prioritization skills, managing complex tasks and projects for self, team, and group projects.




  • Clear and confident communicator, with mediation skills to avoid or resolve conflicts, delivering constructive criticism.




  • Leadership and teamwork skills, capable of leading teams and encouraging dedication and trust with customers.




  • Ability to motivate team to respond to changes with speed and confidence, demonstrating leadership and mentoring skills.




  • Initiative in ensuring timely completion of assignments and projects, modeling good behavior and teamwork, and overcoming performance obstacles.
