Job Summary:

The Logistics Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for planning and facilitating the shipments of all customers final product and samples as well as plant to plant shipments. Maintaining and following standard operating procedures in current customer and onboarding campaigns. The Logistics Shipping Coordinator will also deal with customs requests, permit applicability for shipments and import and export for Lonza Portsmouth.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expected to create a working relationship with the customer and designated freight forwarders for shipments.

  • Scheduling and tracking all necessary items for upcoming shipments including, shipping authorization forms, communication with Lot Disposition on the cover letter and labeling of final product, job number and tracking information from couriers.

  • Coordinate with Program Management on any upcoming customer shipments

  • Create and maintain SAP inventory accuracy for all final product.

  • Maintaining GDP for all shipping documentation and logbooks.

  • Complete training requirements as needed to support customer needs as well as upcoming shipments. Responsible for training of shipping team.

  • Develop and maintain appropriate tracking tools for final product to ensure inventory is accurate.

  • Coordinate material hand-offs with manufacturing

  • perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 5+ years of Shipping/Receiving experience

  • Ability to use power equipment

  • Ability to follow and create applicable procedures in shipping

  • Positive team oriented attitude

  • Attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications

  • Strong communication
