Our successful candidate will support our production team by:
Installation and & repair of equipment.
Being onsite to maintain production lines. Be a problem solver, a quick thinker, and be willing to step in to help. At JR Peters we all support one another and work together to be successful.
Performing equipment preventative maintenance. Be proactive and reactive - think how can we stop prevent this problem from happening.
Be able to communicate with production personnel to assist in issues that could slow or stop our ability to make product.
To begin, you will train alongside our Maintenance and Production teams. The goal of this position is to be a team member that can be counted on and relied upon to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues. Also, work with our leadership team to run an efficient manufacturing operation.
Skills required:
Strong mechanical background and experience
Experienced in troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding mechanical systems (gearboxes, bearing, conveyors, and drive systems)
Experienced in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and rebuilding (cylinders, valves, manifolds, and pumps)
Welding: MIG and ARC
Metal fabrication
HVAC experience a plus but not mandatory
Troubleshooting and repairing
Strong electrical background and experience
Able to troubleshoot and repair:
480v and 240v for single phase and 3 phase
24v and 110v control voltage systems
Starters/contactors, power supplies, relays, and control cabinet components
Limit switches, proximity sensors, and photo eyes
PLC (Basic troubleshooting preferred, but programming experience would be a plus)
General facility electrical (lights, receptacles, exhaust fans, etc.)
Read and understand electrical schematics
Programing and troubleshooting VFDs
Run conduit and wire (EMT, PVC, Rigid)
Plan, build BOM, and install
Experience with automation
Ability to work on facility projects:
General roof repair
Drywall install/repair
Painting
Installing/repairing lighting
Repairing/installing doors and frames
Masonry repair
Basic carpentry
Plumbing- installs and repairs (PVC and Copper piping)
Replace air filters for HVAC
Other skills and abilities:
Ability to work without supervision
Self-starter

Able to work OT as needed (weekends when needed for projects)

5S knowledge and experience
World Class Maintenance standards experience
Root cause analysis experience
Experience using CMMS software
Fluent with using computers for communication and data entry (Office, Teams, Excel, etc.)
Good communication skills
Calm demeanor- handle pressure during breakdowns
Great attitude among co-workers
Problem solving skills
Physically able to perform duties required:
Be on your feet for long periods of time
Able to climb ladders
Crawl under equipment to perform work
Walk up several flights of stairs several times throughout shift

Required experience:
- 10+ years’ experience in industrial manufacturing (multi-industry experience is a plus)
Required education:
- High school or equivalent
