Description
Conduct the learning experience in the classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical areas. Prepare for instruction- syllabi, lesson plans, tests. Use assessment strategies to assist the continuous development of the learner. Use effective communication techniques with students and others. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. Use appropriate and current technology in the teaching and learning process. This is a 224-duty day position. Hours will vary and require some evenings. Administration of the learning process (teaching) is to be accomplished in accordance with Federal regulation, Florida State Law, and Florida Gateway College Board Policies. The primary responsibility of an Instructor at FGC is to the student in the classroom. All other activities must be considered secondary in importance. The Instructor is expected to allocate time in a manner as to provide scheduled classroom hours and office hours during which the students may have access to the Instructor.

Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Ability to present information in a coherent manner and the ability to fairly evaluate student retention of that information. Computer literate.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Faculty who teach in the Associate Degree Nursing Program must have a Master of Science in Nursing degree and be licensed in Florida or be eligible for licensure in Florida. Three years of experience as a staff nurse (acute care preferred). Teaching experience preferred.
