Summary: A leading chemical manufacturer, currently seeking a Production Shift Supervisor, values career-driven individuals for this dynamic role. The Production Shift Supervisor oversees daily plant operations under the guidance of a Plant Foreman and/or Area Manager. This fast-paced, rotating shift position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities:
Supervise a team of 6 to 12 hourly employees engaged in chemical manufacturing and packaging across various production lines.
Uphold safety standards while adhering to established work practices and procedures.
Proactively identify and address product quality and production efficiency concerns, implementing corrective actions.
Manage labor costs through effective scheduling adjustments, minimizing disruptions.
Ensure finished products meet customer specifications by meticulously reviewing orders.
Exhibit adeptness in performance appraisal administration, employee coaching, development, and disciplinary actions.
Guarantee compliance with safety permits and actively participate in site-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
Engage in safety and production meetings, contributing actively to discussions.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to facilitate plant maintenance activities.
Tackle issues to optimize productivity and efficiency, reducing downtime.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
Previous supervisory experience (1-2 years) with a focus on quality, safety, and environmental concerns within a manufacturing setting.
At least 2 years of manufacturing experience or relevant coursework.
A demonstrated history of prioritizing safety, quality, production, and environmental considerations.
Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), adept at motivating, organizing, and prioritizing in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership and supervisory competencies.
Proficiency in issue resolution, follow-up, and solution implementation.
