Job Description:

Why Patients Need You

Pfizer's purpose is to deliver breakthroughs that change patients' lives. Research and Development (R&D) is at the heart of fulfilling Pfizer's purpose as we work to translate advanced science and technologies into the therapies and vaccines that matter most. As a post-doctoral scientist in Drug Safety R&D (DSRD) organization, you will apply cutting edge technologies to accelerate and bring the best-in-class and safe medicines to patients around the world.

What You Will Achieve

As a Post-doctoral Fellow, you will be part of the Alternative Technology and Imaging (ATI) group within the Bothell DSRD department. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary and talented scientists towards developing a better understanding of how hepatic physiology and metabolism influence ADC pharmacokinetics and toxicity. Studies in vitro complex liver cell culture models / novel alternative methods (NAMs) will be developed and hypotheses related to ADC structural characteristics will be tested in these systems.

  • Establish in vitro systems using liver iPSC or primary hepatic cell cultures to develop tools that can recapitulate ADC-cell interactions that occur in-vivo
  • Through the development and implementation of in vitro technologies, mechanistic hypothesis will be explored to define the structural characteristics of ADCs that contribute to pharmacologically undesirable interactions with liver cells that ultimately influence clearance and downstream toxicities.
  • In vitro finding will be further confirmed by testing hypotheses in vivo pre-clinical models

Your strong foundation in molecular and cellular biology principles will enable you to take innovative approaches that will lead to achieving new milestones for the treatment of oncology patients.

How You Will Achieve It

Driving innovation, independent thinking, problem solving, and meticulous design, execution and interpretation of experiments under minimal supervision.

Collaborating and seeking guidance from subject matter experts, including toxicologists, complex cell culture specialists, cancer biologists, and protein scientists, to achieve project objectives.

Working with mentors to develop and apply complex in vitro assays to develop translatable models.

Presenting the research work at various internal and external meetings and conferences and publish in relevant peer-reviewed journals.

Contributing to building a culture that embraces scientific excellence, urgency, partnerships with key stakeholders, continuous learning and improvement, increasing technical skill base and neurotoxicology expertise.

Ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are carried out according to scientific, ethical and regulatory standards.
