Job Summary: The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily accounting activities for our manufacturing operations. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and leads a team of accountants to maintain compliance with accounting principles and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing accounting practices, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to drive financial efficiency. Major Areas of Responsibility: Supervision and Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of 2-3 accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Ensure all accounting functions are performed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy. Assist in the preparation of management reports, including variance analysis of budget vs. actuals, and cost analysis specific to manufacturing operations. Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely reconciliation of accounts. Review and approve journal entries. Assist the Finance Manager/Controller with budget preparation and forecasting, providing insights on financial performance, trends, and operational efficiency. Cost Accounting: Maintain and analyze cost accounting systems to ensure accurate tracking of direct materials, labor, and overhead costs. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to evaluate production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-control measures. Evaluate labor and burden rates, perform inventory valuations, and assist with physical inventory counts. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role. Strong understanding of cost accounting and manufacturing operations. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar ERP systems). Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling). Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Preferred Skills: Manufacturing or industrial sector experience. Knowledge of ERP system integration and automation in a manufacturing environment. Experience with inventory management systems and procedures.
