Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and three years of admissions or related experience. Supervisory experience is required.

The University of South Alabama’s College of Medicine Admissions department is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Admissions – COM. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
Aids the Director of Admissions in the management of enrollment of entering freshmen students to the College of Medicine.
Assists with training and management of staff and reviews applications in conjunction with the Assistant Dean for Admissions and the Director of Admissions.
Compiles a list of appropriately completed applications for presentation to the Interview Subcommittee of the Admissions Committee for review and to ensure the AMCAS application process is being followed.
Compiles data needed for the Office of Admissions annual report and for the analysis of admissions statistics on a national and local level.
Compiles information needed to inform administration, faculty, and support personnel of admissions application activity.
Assists in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to enhance future applicant pools.
Assists in the development of recruitment materials and web-based information on the College of Medicine.
Acts in conjunction with the Admissions Team in visits with key undergraduate colleges annually and conduct one-on-one interviews with prospective applicants with the goal of providing feedback on building a competitive application.
Assists with counseling unsuccessful applicants to provide advice for enhancing future applications.
Assists in the development and implementation of visitation day programs to increase the visibility of existing education and healthcare facilities.
Serves on various College of Medicine and USA Health committees as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
Oversees the Early Assurance Program (EAP) by coordinating with Enrollment Services and the Honors College during the annual selection process, scheduling EAP participants with the Admissions Team for review at the end of Freshman and Sophomore years, and setting up Junior year formal interviews with members of the College of Medicine Admissions Committee.
Regular and prompt attendance.
Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
Performs related duties as required.
