Responsibilities:
Support additive manufacturing and laser cutting labs, designing CAD files, operating CO2 and fiber laser machines, and post-processing parts to meet customer specifications.
Perform a range of duties including electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical tasks such as construction, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and maintenance.
Maintain and operate 3D printers, ensuring adherence to additive manufacturing processes including post-processing, specification checks, and design compliance.
Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and instructions; conduct tests and document results; calibrate and align equipment as needed.
Handle delicate model components in a 3D modeling lab, following engineering development and design processes.
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Clearance: Interim Secret Clearance to start.
Experience:
1-3 years of mechanical skills in assembling engineering prototype hardware, including sanding, painting, and general assembly of plastic and metal parts.
5 years of maintaining and cleaning mechanical equipment and technical lab environments.
1-3 years of experience with Pro/E/CREO or other CAD software, including GD&T.
1-3 years of experience in additive manufacturing and laser cutting technologies.
2-4 years of experience in processing and handling delicate components for 3D modeling.
Skills: Ability to follow engineering processes and strong computer proficiency.
Desired Skills:
Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail and adaptability to learn new skills.
Experience with composites, bonding agents, primers, paints, fillers, epoxies, and related processes is a plus.
