Position Summary:
Provide tutoring to individual students to improve academic performance in Math courses
Reporting Relationship:
Direct reporting relationship to the Director, SSS TRiO Program
Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach study skills, note and test taking skills
- Evaluate and document student sessions and progress throughout tutoring sessions
- Collaborate with students, faculty, administrators and advisors to determine the student needs
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Contact students via phone and email to encourage their involvement in tutoring
- Other assignments given by Student Support Services, faculty, and administrators
- Provide follow up reports/documentation
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Associates Degree in Math.
- Be available to tutor at least 5 hours per week.
- Experience in tutoring disadvantaged students.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Ability to schedule time flexibility to meet participant's needs.
- Possess a background similar to TRiO participants.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Math.
Anticipated Work Hours and Days:
19 hours weekly
Salary:
$22.00 per hour
