The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology has an immediate opening for an Electrophysiologist (EP) cardiologist. The successful candidate will be Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Board Certified or Board Eligible in EP. The successful candidate will have proficiency in the full range of EP procedures including device implantation, ablation, and cardiac resynchronization therapy.
Responsibilities will include: Outpatient cardiology (both in Chapel Hill and at an outreach location), attending on inpatient cardiology services, performing procedures in the EP laboratory, and teaching of cardiovascular fellows and EP cardiology fellows. Major responsibilities of this position include building a referral practice and willingness to do significant outreach including off-site clinics (possibly at multiple locations) and EP procedures at an outside hospital are important. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
A well -developed track record in cardiovascular research, a strong interest in collaboration and the ability to attract extramural funding are pluses. There is the possibility of obtaining a joint appointment in the McAllister Heart Institute.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with members of the Division of Cardiology and the Department of Medicine to facilitate services and achieve organizational objectives in program development while exceeding quality and customer service standards.
MD Degree
Successful completion of a fellowship in Electrophysiology
Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Board Certified/Eligible in Electrophysiology
