Our client, located in Terre Haute, IN, is looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing manufacturing team. This is a direct hire, in-office role.
Salary - $80K - $115k (DOE)
You will develop, direct and coordinate projects for North America which involve both mechanical and electrical components. Projects assigned to this position are of considerable variety and complexity and accomplished with minimal guidance from engineering management.
Responsibilities:
Acts as a safety leader. Demonstrates safety leadership by complying with all safety rules, policies, regulations and procedures; participating in safety programs, and encouraging employee involvement from all employees in all safety activities. Supports all written safety programs and safety training.
Prepares documentation to initiate capital projects when assigned, which includes engineering requests, engineering estimates, account numbers, authorization for capital expenditures and capital project requests. Submits capital requests to corporate for approval.
Leads capital projects from the initial idea through implementation into the plant, including cost tracking.
Determines customer's needs by identifying problems and safety concerns. Partner with customer to educate, evaluate and develop solutions that meet customer's needs critical to quality.
Coordinates, prepares and/or assembles the engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project based.
Evaluate the purchasing services for project materials required to ensure delivery of timely project completion. This includes: reviewing potential vendors, contact with vendors, coordinating with the Purchasing Department, issuing purchase orders, price negotiation, and expediting delivery.
Manages project costs, project scheduling and supplying pertinent communication for multiple highly complex and wide-ranging engineering projects.
Determine materials required for each project including reviewing potential vendors, issuing purchase requisitions and expediting delivery when necessary
Interfaces with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure that equipment is safe, made on schedule and to specification
Act as site subject matter expert for installation, checkout, and start-up of medium to large scale projects.
Provides engineering support and troubleshooting to the plant when machine breakdown issues cannot be solved by maintenance.
Leads Continuous Improvement projects as assigned and leads teams as requested.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in an engineering field - BSEE, BSME, BSET, BSMT degree with 10+ years of experience.
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing verbiage, process, tools, etc.
Expert understanding of business processes and process improvement
Exceptional analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Travel approximately up to 10% of the time to support plants
Ability to support onsite 24 hours on call schedule during project go lives.
