Participates in all phases of engineering projects, including design, testing, system integration, support, and documentation of electronics/electrical systems for semiconductor test handlers.
Supports EtherCAT development
Supports motor tuning. Travels internationally to the customer cites as necessary.
Heavily Participates in the creation of the technical documentation (technical requirements, design verification tests, testing procedures, etc)
Generate ECO (Engineering Change Requests) and BOM's.
Research for the substitutions for the obsolete parts.
Participate in design and troubleshooting of electronic boards and/or wiring.
Supervisory Responsibility: May provide limited work leadership and training to lower level technical employees.
Education/Training: S. in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Minimum of four years' experience with a bachelor's degree, or minimum of two years with a master's degree.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with EtherCAT protocol and Beckhoff Twin CAT. Knowledge of CoE (CANopen over EtherCAT) and Simple Slave protocols. Understanding the data and programming procedures for Ether CAT slave EEPROM.
Two years of Altium Designer experience required. Candidate must know how to do a schematic capture and how to check the PCB packages during the schematic phase to confirm the pinouts, pin numbering, etc.
Some experience with firmware development and debugging.
Knowledge of physics behind a simple mechanical movement (acceleration, jerk)
Ability to do simple electronics troubleshooting with oscilloscope, power supplies and firmware (IDE running on PC).
Ability to understand electronic schematics and datasheets for motor drives, motors, sensors, and electronic components.
Good technical English writing skills.
Ability to learn complicated PC programs quickly.
Microsoft office.
Desirable skills (not strictly required):
Motor tuning experience. Knowledge of PID loop operation. Hands on tuning of fast PID loops is a plus.
Experience with Zuken E3 is a plus, but not necessary.
Some more advanced electronics troubleshooting, and certification experience is a plus.
An ability to understand the datasheet for Operational Amplifiers, MOSFETs and other complicated parts is a plus.
An ability to read and understand technical standards.
