What You Will Do...
As the Northern California Controller, you will:
Serve as a key business partner to operational stakeholders in order to provide insights and recommendations based on your analysis of critical metrics.
Oversee all aspects of the accounting lifecycle including inventory cost accounting, month-end, weekly forecasting, annual budgeting, maintenance of fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.
Manage financial plans and policies, accounting practices, and financial compliance.
Play a crucial role in strategic planning, capital expenditure planning, and acquisitions.
Support, mentor, and manage a team.

Location: This is an on-site position that can be based out of Santa Rosa, or San Rafael, CA.
What You Can Do (Qualifications)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related.
6+ years related experience to include a strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls, financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close and inventory management.
Inventory cost accounting
Supervisory experience including the ability to motivate and coach others, oversee, and develop teams, delegate tasks, build teams, and manage conflicts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant.
Strong project management skills including the ability to lead projects and prioritize among multiple requirements and deadlines.
Effective interpersonal skills, including building rapport, active listening, presenting, and giving/receiving feedback.
High standards of ethics, integrity, and trust, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The ability to deal with ambiguity and facilitate change.
Current authorization to work in the United States and the ability to pass pre-employment controlled-substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications
Plant or Operational Accounting experience in the construction and/or manufacturing industry.
CPA, CFE, or CMA.
SQL Query Experience.
Work Requirements:
Ability to travel to site locations in Santa Rosa, Windsor, Sonoma, and San Rafael frequently

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Responsible for all accounting, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting responsibilities of Northern California.
Responsible for monthly financial close and reporting, consolidation process, and variance analysis; including financial statement preparation and review as well as management reporting and analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliation preparation and/or review.
Maintain strong internal control environment to safeguard company assets and employees, ensuring compliance with SOX and other control processes and appropriate documentation.
Assist in the development and execution of the five-year strategic plan utilizing market-driven data for commercial and residential markets.
Play a key role in acquisition setup, integration, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with CRH Americas Materials, West Division, and Northwest Region accounting policies and procedures.
Capex preparation, reporting, and oversight.
Ensure compliance with tax rules/regulations and timely/accurate tax reporting for sales/use, real/personal property, fuel, and asset licensing.
Business partner to operations and management to provide analytical support for improving financial performance, working capital management and key initiative achievement.
Lead and manage accounting team, providing oversight, mentorship, and direction, including hands-on assistance as appropriate; and to further their development and strengthen the finance organization.
Prepare various Regional and Divisional reports as required.
Perform special reporting and analysis, as needed.
Foster a success-oriented, continuous improvement environment within the organization.
