About the Role:
As the Senior Supervisor of Nursing at Tyson Foods, you will lead and manage our occupational health programs at one of our state-of-the-art facilities. Your role is vital in promoting and restoring the health of our team members, preventing illness and injury, and safeguarding against work-related and environmental hazards. You will work closely with our dedicated team to implement and maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring our workplace remains a safe environment for everyone.
Days/Hours will be 1:00pm-12:30am (10 hr shifts) dependent upon coverage. Alternating Saturday/weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Occupational Health Nurse programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring they align with Tyson's commitment to health and safety.
Injury & Illness Prevention: Manage comprehensive injury and illness prevention programs, providing early intervention and managing workers' compensation cases to ensure swift recovery and compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
Collaboration & Communication: Participate in facility management meetings, safety, and ergonomic programs, providing updates on occupational health matters. Develop and coordinate health education programs for team members.
Confidentiality & Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in all health-related matters, ensuring all records and reports are accurate and compliant with legal requirements.
What You'll Need:
Education: A current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience: Ideally, you have at least 2 years of management experience and a background in occupational health nursing or a related field.
Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, independent decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical documentation systems are also important.
Physical Requirements: You'll need to be physically active, with the ability to walk through the plant, including climbing steps and using ladders, to ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
Travel: Minimal travel required-just 1 to 2 domestic trips per year.
