Title: Specialty Pharmacist



Location: 3033 W President George Bush Hwy, Ste 100. Plano, TX 75075


Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of 3033 W President George Bush Hwy, Ste 100. Plano, TX 75075



Schedule:




Monday-Friday, Rotating 8-hour shift between 7:30am-7:30pm CST.


Saturdays: 9:00am-1:00pm CST

The Specialty Pharmacistis responsible to perform the duties of a licensed pharmacist. Ensures adherence to laws and regulations and maintains compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations as well as local, state, and federal requirements as it pertains to prescriptions.

• Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security and inventory and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste.
  
  


• Ensures compliance with laws governing the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs.
  
  


• Engages in consultation with prescriber regarding providing pharmaceutical care.
  
  


• Answers questions and provides information to patients on drug interaction, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
  
  


• Ensures that stock and supplies necessary for customer care are ordered, stored, and handled in an organized and efficient manner.
  
  


• Lead the activities of pharmacy technicians and delivery/equipment technicians.
  
  


• Dispenses
  
  


• Plans, implements, and maintains procedures for, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, and ensures quality, security, and proper disposal.
  
  


• Assists the patient delivery representative in orders, receiving, maintaining and tracking all infusion related equipment.
  
  

• Requires BA/BS degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D and minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacist in clinic and/or alternate site/home health pharmacy service; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  
  


• Requires current active unrestricted license to practice pharmacy as Registered Pharmacist (RPh).
  
  


• For Paragon and Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.
