National Account Manager - National Central Acct Management
Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations listed on the requisition.
The National Account Manager is responsible for development of retention strategy for the accounts within National. Typical group size is less than 5,000 and approximately 10 clients.
How you will make an impact:
Provides strategy for retention and business development while providing day-to-day account service.
Develops relationship with key client contacts including consultants and/or brokers and develops a comprehensive understanding of client.
Develops multi-year plan and delivers on client commitments.
Increases the growth of specialty business within existing accounts.
Leads the coordination of internal partners to meet and exceed client expectations.
Drives the opportunity for additional growth and product sales.
Understands the client and market and anticipates client needs.
Articulates client requests or needs within Anthem.
Manages the annual renewal process for accounts, including underwriting negotiation, preparation of renewal analysis, and client presentations.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 6 years of experience in account management or sales; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Sales license is required to be obtained and appointed within thirty (30) days of hire.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
Experience working in the managed care/healthcare insurance industry most notably in Large Groups and/or National Accounts sales strongly preferred.
Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.
Proven ability in collaborating with leaders and cross-functional teams to coordinate efforts towards common goals strongly preferred.
Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.
Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, MS Teams and Salesforce preferred.
