Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in operation, maintenance, repairs, and improvements of the Kelly Township Municipal Authority's facilities, pumping stations, collection systems, and related duties.
Education/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Valid PA Driver's license.
Must live within 25 miles of the treatment plant.
Must be available for emergency call outs.
Must work designated weekends and holidays.
Willing to obtain a PA DEP operating certification to the level of KTMA facilities within three (3) years of employment.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
Perform work required for the operation, maintenance, repairs, and improvements of buildings, equipment, vehicles, and grounds.
Responsible for maintaining workspace cleanliness and neat overall appearance of the KTMA facilities. Including but not limited to painting, mowing, trimming, and snow removal.
Required to operate equipment, including but not limited to, belt filter press, sludge screening, backhoe, mowing and snow removal equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
Perform manual labor such as, but not limited to, digging with a shovel, pick and digging bar, operating a jack hammer.
Expected to work in the field executing repairs to the Authority's various systems. Assisting with traffic control and various other work for the maintenance of the system in all weather conditions and any terrain.
Expected to work in high places as well as below ground surface.
Required to lift objects up to 75 lbs.
Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Employees regularly work in outside weather conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, and are exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
Perform laboratory tests, data collection and data entry.
Perform work in a safe manner.
Ability to work as a team player and/or independently.
Ability to work with the public.
