The Expedited Experienced Driver Recruiter performs a critical role in growing Covenant Transport Services’ driving fleet of safe, service-oriented, driving professionals. Recruiters will prioritize and screen applicants, schedule orientation and conduct follow up with the highest qualified candidates for open positions in accordance with DOT regulations, and Federal and State employment laws.
Responsibilities
Pre-screen incoming driver candidate applications
Persuade qualified candidates to consider the Company as their next employer by effectively communicating the opportunity with respect to the compensation, benefits, and culture of the organization
Make/receive outbound/inbound calls
Conduct phone interview with applicants to pre-qualify applicants
Minimize/eliminate disqualified applicants
Conduct background investigations to properly verify the qualifications of the applicant
Run various reports required to qualify drivers
Enter qualified leads into applicant data base, and ensure all verification information needed is accurately and thoroughly entered and/or provided
Follow up with applicants to advise them of the progress of their application
Scheduling approved applicants to attend an Orientation
Independently manage time and resources to meet specified performance standards for the assigned geography and/or business unit
Documenting all recruiting activity and status of application in Tenstreet (ATS)
Utilize ATS to correspond, follow up with applicants, and reschedule no shows
Provide feedback weekly on lead numbers and quality
Complete daily, weekly, monthly reports as required
Attend & participate in company related motivational/educational classes
Touch all new applicants/reapplies within 24-36 hours
Understand each job description and benefits/requirements for open jobs
Consistent inbound/outbound pipeline development effort on a weekly basis
Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities
Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines
A high level of computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel is required (and will be tested); web-based databases and programs, email, etc. is required. Knowledge of Tenstreet other modern recruiting software is preferred
Organized and effective under pressure and be accountable for results
Self-motivated with sound reasoning abilities and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to provide valuable and timely customer service to candidates, hiring managers and senior level management
Transportation industry experience, and/or a working knowledge of DOT regulations, is a plusEducation and Experience
High School diploma or GED
Sales or Telemarketing experience preferred

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $40,000.63-$62,120.37
Pay Grade: 6
