The Maintenance Technician is responsible for undertaking preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Within a manufacturing or industrial environment, the technician assists in identifying and promptly resolving any mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical issues that may occur within the manufacturing processes and auxiliary equipment and systems in the facility. The specific duties of the technician vary depending on the prevailing maintenance requirements.

Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment
Repair all production equipment as needed
Comply with all GMP, safety, and audit standards.
Perform general housekeeping
Change line for package changeovers
Participate in breakdown analysis (BDA) efforts
Work with outside contractors when necessary
Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology
Ability to work independently.
Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).
Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns).
Product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
The capability to successfully execute one or more of the following tasks is highly desirable in order to excel in this position.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, such as starters, fuses, contacts, and relays
Familiarity with compressors and ammonia systems, like refrigeration systems
Proficiency in working with conveyors and airveyors, including air cylinders, diverters, sensors, and motor/speed controls.
Skilled in handling electrical systems, including installation, frequency drive, and troubleshooting.
Experience with electronics, such as level probes, flow meters, and drives/VFDs.
Knowledgeable about gearing and gear boxes, including rebuilds, ordering parts, and machining parts.
Proficient in hydraulic systems, dealing with high-pressure cylinders, pumps, valves, and troubleshooting.
Understanding of kinematics, including line speed/sprocket size ratios
Familiarity with reviewing rating instructions
Experience with PLC systems, including industrial maintenance and computer control systems.
Competence in working with pneumatics, including solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of pneumatics/air compression, such as valves and cylinders
Skill in performing preventative maintenance using computerized charts/data.
Experience with pumps, including troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, and understanding specifications.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, such as electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, and relays.
Proficient in troubleshooting, including diagnostics and problem-solving
Collaboration skills and experience working in team-based environments.
