Role - Oracle Database Administrator Sr
Type: Contractual ( No Sub Vendors)
Location - Pittsburgh, PA or phoenix, AZ ( Hybrid)
Key responsibilities:
- Experience leading Oracle projects
- Experience validating new versions of Oracle and operating systems
- Expert knowledge of:
- OEM administration
- database design
- Various Oracle database connection methods which includes approaches for connection pooling
- Database migration
- grid infrastructure
- Oracle backups utilizing recovery appliances which includes a data vault
- recovery appliance administration
- fleet patching (including the configuration/support of FPP)
- data guard
- GoldenGate
- TDE
- database performance tuning

- Their daily work is somewhat unknown and the percentage of their day spent on different tasks is unknown.
- The engineering team is the final point of escalation. Members of that team need to be able to resolve complex issues as they arise.
- I don't anticipate finding someone that will check all of the boxes. The expectation is that they would be strong on several areas. Huge importance with regard to project management. The candidate will ideally be someone that has extensive OEM admin experience.
Must have technical skills/experience (ask for alternative/tool/version):
- 5 years of Oracle database support
- Experience with Multitenant Architecture and RAC
- Solid understanding of Golden Gate, Data Guard, EUS, FSFO, TDE
- Experience configuring and supporting active/active configurations
- Experience migrating large databases
- Experience patching Oracle databases and Grid Infrastructure
- Knowledge of Oracle Recovery Appliances (backup and recovery)
- Strong scripting skills
For one of the positions - Experienced Oracle Enterprise Manager administration . This includes OMS and agent patching, target discovery/management, OEM performance troubleshooting and user management.

Job Responsibilities:
• Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems.
• Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions.
• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
• Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations.
• Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
• Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills:

• Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time.
• Strong knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle, etc.
Education/Experience:
• High School Degree and 2 year technical degree in computer programming or equivalent training/work experience required.
• Bachelor degree preferred. 6 to 8 years experience required.
