As a Mechanical Engineer you will perform engineering design in support of architectural and engineering projects related to mechanical design for HVAC, piping system, and controls work.
Responsibilities
Mechanical Engineers work as part of a multi-discipline team performing mechanical engineering design during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. Work will be performed with some supervision receiving advice and direction from Senior Engineers. Work must consistently deliver technically correct solutions for small projects or tasks within complex/large scope projects. Some independent judgment is required on work details. Assignments will include performing design calculations, interpreting and preparing reports, preparing cost estimates, and producing deliverable drawing sets for site plans, HVAC plans, piping plans, controls diagrams, details, schematics, and schedules.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Designs and specifies project-appropriate mechanical engineering requirements
Assists to direct the work of Mechanical Designers
Performs Revit modeling and detailing
Attends client meetings and communicates with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project development
Conducts site investigations and observations
Prepares narratives, reports, calculations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints
Performs cross-discipline discussions and coordination
Participates in Construction Administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFI’s, solving construction issues, and performing site visits to assess general conformance with the design concept
Assists to mentor and encourage the development of junior professionals and designers
Assists with marketing and business development activities including building relationship with key clients and strategic partners, proposal writing, fee estimates, and client interviews
Travel for marketing and project-related activities will be required
ABET-accredited degree in Masters of Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical engineering on a wide variety of projects within the A/E industry
Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer required
Demonstrated practical knowledge of codes and related industry standards
Production experience preparing deliverable drawing sets in Revit
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency using load, system sizing, and energy modeling software
Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
