Position Summary:
The College of Business at Henderson State University invites applicants for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Accounting. Henderson's Business program was initially accredited by AACSB in 1998.
Job responsibilities include developing and teaching undergraduate courses in Accounting, and as well as sustained interaction with business and industry. Other duties will include assessment/evaluation of instruction; career advisement, recruitment, and retention activities; and participation in college and University committees. The position reports to the Dean of CoB.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Facilitate student learning and help students achieve academic success and retention
Monitor and continuously improve instruction to ensure Student Learning Outcomes are met in a classroom, discipline/program, and College level
Provide academic advising
Connect with local business and industry
Partner with students and faculty to solve problems encountered by entrepreneurs in startups and other organizations
Engage in professional development in current and emerging instructional approaches to engage new majority learners
Work with the Dean to reinvigorate the Accounting program
Attend and participate in faculty and administrative meetings, commencement ceremonies, and other meetings/events as required
This candidate will teach courses to fulfill curriculum goals and objectives while supporting the overall missing of the College
Perform scholarly activities to m aintain competency and currency in the teaching fields consistent with AACSB standards
May conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent studies and internships

Salary and rank will be competitive with AACSB-accredited small schools and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:
A doctorate in Accounting and/or related areas is required for appointment as an Assistant /Associate/Full Professor. ABD candidates who are at the final stages of their doctoral dissertation will be considered.
