Job Summary
Performs administrative and department manager duties for the unit.
Assists the Director with managing accounts and budgets.
Manages personnel records and assists with scheduling of African Studies Courses.
Oversees graduate program affairs and records.
Assists the Associate Director with grant application preparations, specifically financial components.
Serves as a resource person for prospective and current students, faculty and staff.
Maintains and updates student files, records and databases.
Manages the units main email account.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
SKILLS
Required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact and communicate with a wide variety of individuals
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner
Maintains confidentiality
Operating knowledge of standard office equipment
Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite including Word, Outlook, Access and Excel
Preferred
Experience with IU program and processes
