Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is the philanthropic heart of the Broadway community. Money raised by Broadway Cares funds organizations across the country that provide lifesaving medication, healthy meals, counseling and emergency assistance for those in need and crisis. Broadway Cares is the single largest financial supporter of the Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), helping everyone in entertainment and the performing arts. Broadway Cares also awards annual grants to more than 450 food pantries, meal delivery organizations, health clinics, emergency assistance programs and other social service organizations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., helping those living with HIV/AIDS and facing other debilitating illnesses.
About this Career Opportunity
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS seeks an organized, dynamic and experienced partnerships and corporate development fundraiser to join our development team to lead, expand and execute an exciting, fast-growing corporate partnerships fundraising program.
This person will lead a program that includes annual partners, event sponsors and bespoke, customized events. This role is key in generating new leads and revenue, and will be a front-facing leader with corporate partners and members of the Broadway community.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding storyteller and communicator who is detail-oriented, ambitious and creative. The senior partnerships officer will oversee a partnerships officer, report to the director of development and work closely with the executive director and other members of the Broadway Cares staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, strategize and implement growth of corporate partnerships program, including soliciting new corporate partners, engaging current partners, facilitating partner renewals and managing event sponsors
Generate a set target of qualified leads to establish valuable, long-term relationships across a range of potential partners to meet and exceed financial goals
Engage with corporate partners and prospects to craft bespoke collaborations that fulfill the needs of the partner while fundraising for Broadway Cares
Lead activations, engagements and moderate discussions with members of the Broadway community in a front-facing capacity
Oversee post-show talkback program with Broadway and nationally touring shows
Create and manage budgets for maximum net revenue
Lead partner negotiations and deal structure
Develop tools and resources needed, including sponsorship grids, presentation decks, one sheets, proposals, agreements and action plans
Manage the corporate partnership committee, made up of volunteer business leaders across a variety of industries, engaging with members and facilitating regular meetings
Identify and attend key networking events and functions
Perform other relevant duties as needed to support our fundraising initiatives and our mission
Participate with the entire Broadway Cares staff in large annual and smaller one-time events, and in facilitating audience appeals for two annual six-week fundraising periods, which take place in the evenings and on weekends
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in partnerships, sales or business development at a nonprofit or for-profit organization
Bachelors degree in marketing, business, entrepreneurship, communications or relevant field
Proven ability to drive fundraising/sales and forge lasting relationships
Ability to think creatively while simultaneously being solution-oriented to drive results
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and pivots
Executive-level presentation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Impeccable organizational and time-management skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including mail merge and Outlook) and Google Drive (including slide presentations, forms, sheets and docs)
Experience with Raisers Edge/NXT, Donor Drive or similar databases a plus
Ability to stay calm under pressure and think on your feet
Strong knowledge of Broadway theater, performers and the entertainment industry
Understanding of and commitment to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS mission
Ability to work nights and weekends, and travel as needed
Strong leadership, management and mentoring skills
Willingness to be a team player, assisting and supporting as needed

Compensation/benefits
Salary: $85,000-$100,000
