Department Overview: In this position, you will be part of TASC's Center for Health and Justice (CHJ), which provides training,

technical assistance, and research to inform public policy and advance evidence-based practice at the

intersection of public health and justice. CHJ partners with program leaders, policymakers, and

researchers across the country and offers solutions to improve communities' public health and safety.


We are currently looking for full-time – Director - SCA -TA Center

Starting at $85,000 – contingent upon experience, education, etc.


Summary: This position primarily manages a portfolio of activities related to the development and delivery of the Center for Health and Justice's (CHJ) Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) and Business Development as it relates to deflection and related work, at the local and national level, with possible support for international work. The position overseas the Director of the COSSUP National Deflection TTA Center and the Director of Deflection Initiatives. Coordinates with both internal and external (government, foundation, private, non-profit, international organizations) partners, agencies, consultants, trainers and organizations regarding CHJ's TTA activities and business development.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knowledge, proficiency, & successful experience working with BJA fiscal, operational, reporting, and audit processes related to a TTA Center as well as federal grantees, including data entry and error checking for JustGrants, GAM and NCE submissions, budgeting protocols, Paylocity, and RFP rebids and new bids. Understanding of federal contract, quality assurance, fiscal reporting, TA reporting, and auditing procedures and processes.
  • Oversee and manage all operational aspects of TA Center; review and provide quality assurance of project documentation, narratives and budgets in federal and TASC reporting systems, as well as others as required
  • Conduct business development through sound application of excellence in TTA contract/grantee customer service for BJA benchmarks and with grantees, and the building and maintaining of network relationships including with TTA partners, and BJA leadership and programmatic staff.
  • Review and provide quality assurance of project documentation, narratives and budgets
  • Proficiency working with corrections/reentry entities and initiatives, including the planning and implementation of these processes to include facilitation, action planning, implementation, operationalization, and TTA.
  • Oversee and perform consulting, training and technical assistance, on and off site, as required
  • Coordinate and develop reentry-oriented curricula, trainings and presentations based on identified needs and ensure inclusion of relevant evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with internal departments to share knowledge, resources, marketing, consulting and training opportunities
  • Engage external stakeholders including partners/subcontractors to identify qualified consultants and trainers to respond to consulting and training grantee requests, and for presentations related to corrections/reentry
  • Responsible for management of consulting and training contracts for consultants and sub-awardees, and for the preparation and management of proposals related to the TTA Center
  • Support for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the performance of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities. – (throughout all CHJ work)
  • Responsible for contributing to strategic planning and goal setting for CHJ as part of the CHJ leadership team and in line with TASC's overall strategic plan and goals.
Requirements:

Our Ideal candidate:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college/university preferred in criminal justice, human services or related field and three years minimum experience in reentry/corrections or related fields. Criminal justice experience required.
  • Ability to develop and deliver high quality workshops and trainings that represent CHJ in a professional capacity.
  • Outstanding management and operational skills.
  • Proven ability to coordinate events, conferences, meetings, and lead multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare written materials for various audiences, including reports and correspondences.
  • Ability to work with colleagues at all levels of government (local, state, and federal), from a variety of fields - research, practitioner, policy, advocates, community, elected, lived-experience, and in the international community, and TTA partners/grantees.
  • Ability to understand and operationalize complex topics in justice and health.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral).
  • Ability to read and prepare financial reports and budgets.
  • Ability to understand, complies with, and request alterations and amendments to contracts.
  • Ability to work with federal contracts and the required systems for reporting, budgets, SOWs, financial, and TA reporting.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population including those with lived-experience backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of computers, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet including e-learning/online education, Monday.com, JustGrants, and a variety of software applications.

The agency currently offers hybrid work schedules that combines in-office and remote work. Employees are required to report to the work site three days per week with the option to work up to two days remotely.
