Price Engineering, a SunSource company, specializes in engineered custom products and solutions through engineering resource management, research, planning and development in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, automation and electrical systems. www.priceeng.com The Fluid Power Assembly Technician (FPAT) responsibilities include assembly of hydraulic power units, test stands, hydraulic manifolds, and pneumatic manifolds and pneumatic panels. The FPAT is required to assemble, paint, and test the projects that they are assigned must use his/her own tools in the project construction. The FPAT will be required to fabricate and weld bracketry to mount components, therefore requiring good fabrication and layout skills so system components are placed logically and where they would be accessible for maintenance purposes. In addition, the FPAT will size, bend, and flare hydraulic tubing. Employee must also be able to troubleshoot fluid power circuits. Position requires a positive attitude, team player, and customer focused attributes.
Essential Functions
Construction of hydraulic systems
Assembly of hydraulic tanks and manifolds
Testing of assembled hydraulic tanks and manifolds
Assembly of various fluid power components, electrical components, and mechanical components
Read schematics/diagrams/blueprints
Welding, fabrication, tube bending
Hose assembly
Use hand/power tools and machining equipment (i.e. drill press, mill, lathe, etc.)
Pneumatic paint spraying
Hydraulic test equipment and test stand operation
Troubleshoot circuits
Forklift operation
Work Environment: Climate controlled shop environment
Experience, Education and Skills
Experience, Education and Skills:
High school degree, GED, or equivalent required
AAS in mechanical field a plus
Ongoing willingness to continue educational learning/training
Experience working with power tools and hand tools
MIG welding
Hydraulic tube bending and fabrication
Forklift Operator
Good mechanical aptitude a must
Logical problem-solving and analytical ability
Strong interpersonal and both written and oral communication skills
Motivated self-starter with the ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments is required.
Sound judgment and decision-making ability
Demonstrates integrity and ethical standards
Maintains a professional demeanor at all times
Team player who works productively with wide range of people
Physical Demands: Lifting up to 35 lbs., bending, assembly, installation & troubleshooting efforts of fluid power systems
