Braun Intertec's Concrete Science group is seeking a Principal Chemist interested in supporting clients' needs on new and historic materials. This position will be located in Bloomington MN or Chicago IL.
Responsibilities:
Strong understand of Concrete and Cementitious Chemistry.
Experience with wet chemistry techniques, XRF, XRD, TGA, FTIR.
Mentor Professionals on chemical analysis
Maintain quality standards in laboratory analysis.
Consult with clients to solve problems with historic and new concrete materials.
Prepare proposals for testing and consulting projects
Project related responsibilities consist primarily of developing project scopes, coordinate laboratory work, establish timelines, analyze and understand data, write reports, and manage projects from the proposal stage to closing the project.
Act as the primary author or reviewer of deliverables for projects or research
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success
Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations
Travel up to 25% of time
Required Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to Braun's company standards
Ability to conduct laboratory work.
Ability to monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues for consulting and testing projects.
Possess technical aptitude to solve technical issues where solutions are undefined in typical practice
Able to interact with clients to help maintain project schedules and deliverables.
Ability to work within a strong team environment
Self-motivated to learn new skills
Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry
15 to 20 years of experience with laboratory chemistry techniques.
Basic understanding of concrete properties and testing methods.
Proficient in excel and word
Must have a valid driver's license.
