Position Mission:

The Tools and Equipment National Sales Manager - Vocational Education is a customer sales role within NAPA Auto Parts focused on aggressively developing, growing, and maintaining strategic relationships within the vocation trade school market.

Responsibilities:
  • The following section contains the primary responsibilities for this position. Job holder is responsible for performing any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Proactively makes calls to school accounts across multiple locations to engage and further develop sales opportunities.
  • Have a written business plan with specific objectives.
  • Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly sales goals.
  • Stay current with school/student programs and promotions from other vendors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and consistent communication with school account key decision makers (administrators, directors, instructors, etc.) to promote our products & services.
  • Understand and leverage the NAPA brand and all subsidiary/proprietary brands.
  • Secure commitments and execute contracts.
  • Comprehension of National and State purchasing cooperative programs.
    • AXIA, NASPO, PSA, Sourcewell, WSCA, etc.
  • Comprehension of State Contract bid requirements where applicable.
    • Use of BidSync, MyGovWatch, etc.
  • Comprehension of supplier government account programs where applicable.
  • Works closely with NAPA Distribution Center and NAPA store decision makers to expand volume business by identifying and converting sales to local school accounts.
  • Understand the customer and their needs, and effectively work with local Distribution Center and NAPA Store Sales Teams to offer insight and intelligence with respect to customer expectations.
  • Works with T&E Account Support Managers (ASM) on order entry, tracking and confirmation of purchase orders.
  • Fully and quickly address customer sales and service questions.
  • Works with suppliers to resolve supply problems and improve communications.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with supplier representatives.
  • Identify areas of opportunity and advise management.
  • Comprehension of T&E product offerings, education, programs, warranties.
  • Work with Category team and T&E Management to develop programs specifically for schools.
    • Student discounts, financing, custom tool kits, etc.
  • Promote and assist in product knowledge training when applicable.
    • Collaborating with instructors and students.
  • Attend Votech school trade shows and events.
    • Engage with students and instructors.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Work in unison with T&E Regional Managers.
  • All other duties established by T&E Management.

Experience, Education, Abilities, and Work Environment:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years previous sales experience
  • Proven and documentable experience building and scaling new teams and programs.
  • Experience working in a fast pace hyper growth environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptional oral and written skills towards both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Post Secondary degree in business.
  • Strong leadership and relationship management experience.
