Position & Client Overview:

A 500-bed full-service acute care medical facility is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Tech to work the day shift. This is a four 10-hour shift contract position.

Weekly Pay: $2,457


Job Summary:

Nuclear medicine technologists perform tests for diagnosis and medical research. They prepare and administer small doses of radioactive drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) to patients, then use high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactive material in the body. They provide technical support to physicians or other professional nuclear medicine personnel in the diagnosis, care, and treatment of patients and for research and investigation into the uses of radioactive drugs.


Skill Requirements:

  • Must be detail-oriented and follow precise procedures to ensure the safety of patients and themselves.
  • Must be able to analyze images and determine if they are high quality enough to make an accurate diagnosis.
  • Communicate with patients and other health care professionals to explain procedures, answer questions, and discuss test results.
  • May be on their feet for long periods and may need to lift and move patients who cannot move themselves.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Explain medical procedures to the patient and answer questions
  • Follow safety procedures to protect themselves and the patient from unnecessary radiation exposure
  • Prepare and administer radioactive chemical compounds, known as radiopharmaceuticals
  • Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation
  • Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement
  • Analyze biologic specimens in the laboratory
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.


Education, Certification, & Experience:
  • Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Bachelor's Degree from a nuclear medicine technology program
  • Two (2) years of experience


Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
