The Microbiologist is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tasks, including sample processing, testing, and client interaction. This individual serves as a key technical resource and client liaison, delivering in-process service calls, answering client questions, and ensuring that all laboratory operations meet required performance standards. The role requires proficiency in microbiological techniques and adherence to quality management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform laboratory operations including sample login, weight-out, setup, streaks, ELISA & PCR Rapid tests, and bench reading.
Conduct service calls to clients for in-process and final test results, providing answers to client questions or referring them to the Technical Services Managers when needed.
Maintain a strong understanding of the Media & Autoclave Room operations.
Ensure timely and accurate test results are reported to clients.
Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, assisting with overall lab sanitation and dishwashing duties as required.
Adhere to all Quality Management Systems and ensure compliance with proper gowning procedures.
Provide on-the-spot re-training of associates when necessary, ensuring proper technique is followed.
Assist the Lab Manager with various tasks as directed.

Professional workplace appearance and ethical conduct, with a strong focus on integrity.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Microbiology, Biology, or a related science field is preferred.
0-5 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, ideally in a food or related industry.
