Posting Summary:

Serve as the primary case management officer within the Division of Student Affairs. Supervise the after-hours on call system. Provides leadership and guidance on the most complex student issues frequently meeting with and not limited to students of concern, parents and support team members, hospital staff, General Council, police, and other university staff. Supervise the CARE Team and coordinate University systems and technology, develop policies and institutional frameworks to support students, provide clarity, and manage institutional risk. Serve on the campus emergency response and threat assessment teams. Serving as a key partner to student services staff across the institution, communicate frequently with academic units to improve communication and support for students. Provides education and outreach functions within the division that support key strategic initiatives and educates students about the CARE Team as well as partnering on additional preventative education initiatives. Assume a leadership role in training and development of programs promoting health and safety across campus. Supervise two professional staff in the CARE and student support area.


Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):

Master's degree required. Supervisory and higher education experience. Demonstrated awareness, knowledge, and skills in working with a diverse population is required. Experience and success in working with senior leadership, faculty, staff and students is required. Experience in reviewing student policy, handling sensitive student issues is essential.


Desirable Qualifications:

Significant experience and training through the National Association for Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment (NABITA). Conflict mediation, emergency response, and/or counseling experience desirable. Master's degree in a related field to health and wellbeing (MPH, MSW, Counseling, higher education, etc.)


Anticipated Pay Range:

$76,000 to $81,000/year


Special Conditions:

Non-standard work hours required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Background Check required for this position
