Manage the daily operations of the Plant Pathology and the Entomology Research Centers located on South campus consisting of 167 acres of fruit trees, small fruit, vegetable, and other specialty crops. Responsibilities include performing general Farm Operations, conducting Administrative Duties related to the two Centers, and managing Research Logistics at the Centers. The position requires working closely with researchers and their staff with an expectation of creating a positive environment which supports research and extension activities. Specifics of the position include but are not limited to maintaining operational records; assisting with oversight of maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment; assisting with research logistics from implementation, management, and maintenance of all projects; interviewing, hiring, and supervision of temporary staff; interacting with the faculty, researchers, students, vendors, and community; and requires a Commercial Certified Pesticide applicators license. The position will be supervised by the Assistant Director of AgBioResearch, within the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Minimum RequirementsKnowledge equivalent to that which is normally acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Horticulture, Entomology, Agriculture and/or Crop and Soil Science; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervision, management, and crop production; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and a Pesticide Applicators license.
