Hunt Valve, powered by Fairbanks Morse Defense, is seeking a Trainee, who can keep up with our fast-paced manufacturing environment. A qualified applicant will be required to support the production floor. The applicant will learn the variety of material that is used in the facility.
The trainee may be trained in the below job functions. These job functions may include but are not limited to:
Select, setup, and align holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines as required
Monitor machine progress by checking tolerances, placement of machined areas, etc. by using micrometers, calipers and other measuring and quality related tools
Unload finished parts and stage in appropriate areas using overhead cranes and hoists, lifts, etc.
Perform any other duties deemed necessary in connection with the position.
Performing tasks that are cross functional with other departments in the facility (i.e. making boxes and packaging material, supporting supply management functions and move parts/equipment for orders to different departments in the facility)
Maintaining item traceability
Monitoring outbound and incoming material and orders
Constant exposure to a manufacturing setting
Have the opportunity to attend additional manufacturing educational courses
Using a forklift, crane, saw and other industrial machinery as necessary
Act in a manner that results in collaboration, teamwork, and respect toward all internal and external contacts
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Required Skills:
Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity
Capable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude
Interested in learning with, and from, engineering, and programming team to improve operations
Proficient with Shop Math including but not limited to general addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, and trigonometry
Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, ERP knowledge, Data entry)
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in order to operate machines efficiently
Must have the dexterity to handle various objects necessary to complete the essential functions
Adhere to all company policies
